Cloud, whose district will cover Washington County following last year’s realignment of Congressional District 27, examined multiple areas of the lake and visited with Washington County officials to talk about the enhancements that could be made.
According to Commissioner and County Judge-elect Kirk Hanath, the meeting with Cloud came about after a Washington County Chamber of Commerce roundtable discussion in February, where the two reviewed potential improvements that could benefit the lake community and the county as a whole.

Hanath said the tour went through areas of the lake both in use and currently closed to the public, as well as the site for a planned EMS response station. While he said the needs at the lake vary depending on the spot in question, vegetation control and structural repairs to buildings were some of the items addressed.
Hanath thanked Cloud for his time and interest as new development around the lake impacts Washington and surrounding counties. He said, “With the right upgrades to build on our current success, we can transform the entire lake into a major draw for visitors, boosting our local economy and expanding recreational opportunities for everyone.”
