WASHINGTON COUNTY COMPETES AT TEXAS 4-H ROUNDUP
Washington County 4-H members took part in the Texas 4-H Roundup last week at Texas A&M University in College Station.
In Wool Judging, Washington County won Reserve State Champions and were also named as National Qualifiers. They punched their ticket to the State Fair of Texas National Wool Judging Contest.
The team consisted of Michael Kettler, Leylan Schroeder, Calvin Wunderlich, and Barnes Koehl. They were coached by Joseph Dickschat.
Schroeder was the Reserve State Champion Individual, plus he was second in Grading, and seventh in Reasons.
Wunderlich was the Fourth High Individual, and finished first in Grading, and fourth in Value.
Kettler was 10th in Grading.
For Soil Judging, the team consisted of James Jarvis, Logan Boeker, and Tavan Thompson with Trey Boeker as their coach. They finished in Third Place Overall and qualified for the National Land and Range Judging Contest in El Reno, Oklahoma.
Jarvis finished as the 3rd Overall Individual, while Boeker was the Fourth Overall Individual.
For Qualifying Livestock Judging, the team consisted of Mallory Winkelmann, Colton Bilski, and Bailee Wilson with Kyle and Courtney Despain as their coaches. Winkelmann placed fifth in sheep and goats.
For Invitational Meat Judging, Kannon Koehler was the lone representative with Joseph Dickschat as the coach.
For Horse Judging, the team consisted of Morgan Finke, Bethany Faske, Cherish Faske, Sophia Faske, and Monnica Colanter. The coach was Cheyenne Jacobson-VonRosenberg. Finke finished third in the Halter Judging.
