JURY SELECTION TO BEGIN IN OCTOBER FOR MAN ACCUSED IN FATAL BRENHAM SHOOTING
A trial date is set for a Washington man accused in a fatal shooting in Brenham in 2023, and who was recently booked back into jail after reportedly violating the conditions of his bond.

According to Washington County District Attorney Derek Estep, jury selection is slated to begin on October 19th for 19-year-old Jotore Jamichael Eulee Moore, who is charged with Murder in the death of 17-year-old Marquis Williams after a shooting outside the VFW Hall on April 1, 2023. A pre-trial hearing is planned on August 27th.
Moore, who was 16 at the time of the shooting, was originally detained in May 2023. He was certified in June 2024 to be tried as an adult and was indicted in September 2024.
Per Estep, Moore posted $100,000 bail on January 16, 2025. Moore was rebooked into jail this past Thursday, August 6th after Estep said the court was made aware that Moore had violated the conditions of his in-house arrest, leading to the issuance of a warrant.
Moore is in custody for the Murder charge and a misdemeanor charge of Evading Arrest/Detention, which the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said is from a separate incident that took place last month.
According to Estep, no bail is to be set prior to Moore’s appearance before the court.
