FORMER BLINN PROFESSOR, BOARD MEMBER DR. CHARLES HELLER DIES

  

Former Blinn professor and Board Trustee Dr. Charles Heller has died.

Heller died Tuesday as a result of injuries sustained in an apparent work-related accident.

Heller came to Blinn in 1972 to teach chemistry, and would later become the head of the Natural Sciences Department.  After leaving to focus on his business, Brenham Trees, Heller returned to teach and to serve on Blinn’s Board of Trustees from 1984-92.  He would also serve on the Faculty Senate, and volunteered at many Interscholastic League competitions, before retiring in 2014.

The Charles Heller Research Fund has helped the quality of education for Blinn students, and raised funds to start major construction projects across Blinn’s campuses.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
