PUBLIC HEARINGS ON HUNTING REGULATIONS THIS WEEK IN BRENHAM AND LA GRANGE
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will host a pair of public hearings this week in Brenham and La Grange, regarding proposed changes to hunting regulations.
TPWD will take public comment on possible changes to the 2019-20 Statewide Recreational Hunting Proclamation. Among those possible changes: creating and expanding upon a four-day antlerless deer season, or “doe days”.
Public hearings are set for tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Washington County Fairgrounds Event Center in Brenham, at 1305 East Blue Bell Road; and Wednesday at the AgriLife Extension Service Building in La Grange, at 255 Svoboda Lane. Each of the meetings are at 7 p.m.
The proposed antlerless deer season would pertain to 21 south-central Texas counties, including: Washington, Austin, Bastrop, Caldwell, Colorado, Fayette, Lee, and Waller Counties. The expansion of “doe days” would increase up from four to 16 days in 20 counties, including Burleson and Milam Counties.
Any input will be considered before action is taken by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission at its public hearing on March 20th in Austin.
