BRENHAM FIRE OFFICIALS ENCOURAGE FIREWORKS SAFETY FOR NEW YEAR’S
With New Year’s Eve upon us and 2020 right around the corner, local fire authorities are reminding the public to use caution and be careful when handling fireworks.
Brenham Fire Department Captain Greg Nienstedt reminds the public that any kind of firework items, whether they be bottle rockets or firecrackers, are illegal to possess or use within a mile of city limits.
When using fireworks, make sure to always read and follow the directions given on the label. Always fire them outside, never inside and never aimed toward a building. People should not attempt to make their own fireworks, and should always have water on hand.
Nienstedt says it’s also very important to supervise any children that are using fireworks.
In case of an accident, people can call the Brenham Fire Department at 979-337-7300.
Is Mr.Nienstedt sure that it is illegal to possess or use fireworks within a mile of the city limits or is he being misquoted?
