CAVENDER’S SUPPORTING FFA THROUGH DONATION, T-SHIRT SALES
A western-wear retail chain in Texas is offering support to the FFA through the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the cancellation of the Houston and Austin Rodeo junior livestock shows, many Texas youth were unable to show the projects they have worked on year-round, thereby losing funding from sales to use to further their education.
Cavender’s stores are now offering customers FFA and Youth Livestock Show Support t-shirts, with designs including Stock Show Strong, Rafter C, and No Biz Like Show Biz.
T-shirts are on sale starting today (Monday) for $15 and $18, with 100 percent of proceeds being donated to FFA Foundations in the 12 states where Cavender’s has stores, including Texas,Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Colorado, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico, Alabama and Florida.
Cavender’s was also one of several companies to contribute toward a $100,000 donation to the Texas FFA Foundation for 2020 scholarships. The $100,000 contribution was made by Cavender’s, Wrangler, Ariat, M&F Western, Durango, Cinch, Hooey, and Panhandle Western Wear/Rock & Roll Denim. The 2020 scholarships will be awarded during the 92nd Texas FFA State Convention in Dallas in July.
The Texas FFA Foundation currently awards more than $2.3 million in academic and award scholarships annually.
The Cavender family are some great people to do this. Thank y’all for doing such a great thing for the kids. Thanks joe
