DEL SOL FOOD CO. TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE AFTER EMPLOYEE TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

Del Sol Food Company, Inc. is temporarily closing its doors after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The Brenham-based company and the maker of BRIANNAS Salad Dressing issued a statement this (Tuesday) afternoon saying it learned of the positive test today.  The company said, in order to ensure the safety of employees, it will temporarily suspend operations for 14 days.

Under the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and regulatory agencies, the company will be thoroughly disinfected and sanitized to make sure it is safe for employees to return to work after the temporary closure.

The company in its statement said it takes this matter very seriously, and that the safety of its employees and products is of “utmost importance”.

Update Wednesday @ 7:52 a.m.: Director of Brand Marketing Jenny Van Dorf said no workers have been laid off or furloughed, and employees are receiving normal wages during the temporary closure.
