WASHINGTON CO. COVID-19 COUNT AT 157 AFTER ONE NEW CASE REPORTED THURSDAY; TWO NEW RECOVERIES
Just one new case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Washington County on Thursday.
The single case was reported in a Brenham man in his 60s and, according to the Washington County Joint Information Center (JIC), is from the general public.
That brings the county’s total number of positive cases to 157. The active case count actually decreased to 103, after two new recoveries were reported Thursday. A total of 33 patients have recovered from the virus, while seven remain hospitalized and 21 have died.
At the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (BNRC), the numbers for total and active cases remain unchanged at 102 and 80, respectively. Nineteen of the county’s 21 COVID-19 related deaths are connected to the BNRC. One patient remains hospitalized, while three have recovered.
Update @ 11:20 a.m.: According to the JIC, as of this (Friday) morning, approximately 990 COVID-19 tests have been performed, with 127 of those at the BNRC. That includes 83 tests taken Thursday at the drive-thru COVID-19 testing site at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
