MISSING FAYETTE CO. WOMAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS IN CONVENIENCE STORE PARKING LOT
An elderly woman reported missing in Fayette County received medical transport after authorities found her unconscious in a vehicle at a convenience store in La Grange.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report this (Wednesday) morning of a missing 88-year-old woman from the Warda area. The woman was last seen Tuesday afternoon, and did not answer this morning when being checked on by family members.
Deputies met with the family and began an area search for the woman. Dispatchers used an emergency cell phone “ping” that registered her location possible in the area just off Highway 159 and Highway 71 Bypass.
Other deputies responded and began checking the nearby area before finding a vehicle in a convenience store parking lot that matched the description given by family members. Inside the vehicle, they found the woman unconscious behind the wheel.
The woman was stabilized by Fayette County medical units and later transported to an out-of-town medical facility.
Sheriff Keith Korenek commended deputies for their prompt response that led to a “positive outcome to such a critical incident.”
