POLICE: BRENHAM WOMAN CHARGED AFTER ASSAULTING MAN WITH SCISSORS

A Brenham woman is in the Washington County Jail after police say she assaulted a man she was dating with a pair of scissors.
Police responded just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning to a home in the 600 block of Campbell Street in reference to a penetrating trauma call.
According to Brenham Police Sergeant Jason Derrick, the victim was not on scene when officers arrived and had driven himself to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Brenham, where he was admitted into the emergency room with an injury to his back.
According to Sgt. Derrick, the victim and the suspect, 18-year-old Mia Simmons, were in a dating relationship for the past 7-8 months and lived in the same household.
Simmons was taken into custody for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
