LONGTIME AUTO DEALER EUGENE BOTHE CELEBRATES 90TH BIRTHDAY
Family and friends gathered at Tegeler Toyota in Brenham today (Thursday) to celebrate the 90th birthday of longtime auto salesman Eugene Bothe.
Born and raised in Brenham, Bothe has sold farm equipment and vehicles since the 1950s, and in 1974 became the sole owner of Rankin Motors, which would be called Bothe Ford. He owned the dealership for 12 years before selling to the Appel family. He began selling vehicles at Tegeler Toyota in 1993 and is Tegeler’s longest tenured employee.
Bothe said he plans to keep selling cars as long as he can.
Of course, Bothe couldn’t go without sharing his signature catchphrase.
During the celebration, Bothe was presented with a signed letter from Governor Greg Abbott, congratulating him on his 90th birthday. Brenham Mayor Milton Tate and City Councilmember Shannan Canales also gave Bothe a proclamation declaring April 28, 2022 as “Mr. Eugene Bothe Day”.
