MOTHER/SON DUO SEEKING SPONSORSHIP FOR BASEBALL OPPORTUNITIES

Monday night on the Brenham Sportsline, Amy (Keim) Cockrell and her son, Dawson Keim, were the guests.
Amy moved here to Brenham from Oklahoma with her four children. She was a physical therapist assistant for 22 years and also worked at Texas Home Health. She was also involved for several years with the Washington County Little League, where she volunteered her time, and Dawson played on multiple All-Star teams.
Amy was unfortunately in a car wreck that resulted in her receiving a fractured pelvis among other injuries. She later had further medical issues including battles with a flesh eating bacteria and CO-VID 19.
Amy is disabled and can no longer work. She is still fighting to keep Dawson's dream of playing baseball for the Brenham Cubs alive. He's been wanting to be a Cub since he was six years old (He's 15 now.)
Dawson is involved in the Hunter Pence Baseball Academy. They have tournaments this summer in Atlanta, Georgia and Jupiter, Florida. He has been invited to tryout for the prestigious Underclassman Area Code team on June 22 at Baylor University despite not having played his first high school game yet. Dawson has been taking pitching lessons from Lance Dobbins at H3. His fastball is clocking in at between 80-84 mph.
Dawson has set a goal of wanting to make the Cub Varsity as a freshman this year. Amy said that Dawson has also worked hard in the classroom, taking all honors classes.
If you would like to help them out by sponsoring his tournament participation, please contact Dawson's mom Amy (Keim) Cockrell at 918-407-2857. Their address is 2000 Kirk Drive in Brenham. Amy can also be contacted through her Facebook page.
