ROUND TOP GETTING READY FOR ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION

Residents of Round Top are planning on a big crowd as they get ready for their 172nd Annual Fourth of July Parade and Celebration.
The Round Top Fourth of July Parade and Celebration is known as the longest running 4th of July Celebration West of the Mississippi.
The activities get underway on the Town Square this Monday (July 4th) at 10am. The Parade will get started at 10:30am with the firing of the Round Top Cannon.
The Round Top Parade features handmade floats, antique cars and tractors, fire engines, trail riders, and longhorn cattle.
Following the parade, a chicken and sausage barbecue meal will be served by members of the Round Top Rifle Association at the Rifle Hall on FM 1457 beginning at 11:30am.
There is also going to be a drive-thru available where they will be serving BBQ brisket, pork, sausage, and chicken by the pound. They are going to be available at the pit to go, and they are by reservation only. To make your reservations, call 979-249-7335.
Musical entertainment will be provided all day with the Round Top Brass Band, the Round Top Jam Session, and Cool Freddie E and the Crew.
Plenty of cold refreshments are going to also be available.
In addition to that, they are holding a drawing for a $5,000 gift card. Only 1,500 tickets are being sold for the drawing, so they encourage everyone to get their tickets early.
Tickets may be purchased at Round Top State Bank, Round Top Mercantile, or from any from RTRA Member.
