FREE SCRAP TIRE COLLECTION EVENT OCT. 8-22 AT BVR COLLECTION STATION

  

Washington County residents will have the opportunity next month to dispose of scrap tires at no cost to them.

A free scrap tire collection event runs October 8-22 at the BVR Collection Station in Brenham at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Road.  The event is open to all people who live in the county, including the cities of Brenham and Burton.

Only non-commercial customers are allowed to participate in the free collection; commercial accounts will be charged normal fees.  Proof of residency is required.

Households are asked to bring no more than eight passenger tires that are no bigger than 22 inches.  Anyone who has more than eight tires should schedule with an attendant to bring in their tires at the end of the event, if space is available.  Rims, off-road tires or pieces of tires will not be accepted.

The tire collection event is sponsored by Washington County and the City of Brenham in partnership with BVR and Keep Washington County Beautiful.  The event is funded by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality through the Brazos Valley Council of Governments.

Hours for the BVR Collection Station during the event are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
