BURTON COTTON GIN FESTIVAL SATURDAY
The historic Burton Cotton Gin, the oldest operating cotton gin in America, will be the site tomorrow (Saturday) for a full day of festivities.
The 34th Annual Burton Cotton Gin Festival will have a parade through downtown starting at 10 a.m., with much more to follow at the Cotton Gin Museum.
Over 40 arts and crafts vendors and over 10 food trucks will offer many items to enjoy. Attendees can also look forward to guided tours of the cotton gin, folk-life demonstrations, a tractor pull, antique tractor and classic car displays, and the ever-popular bubblegum blowing, pie eating and cotton seed pulling contests.
Burton Cotton Gin Museum Director Steph Jarvis is excited for this year’s varied music lineup.
The music schedule is 11 a.m. to noon for Ella B and Robert Zientek, noon to 2:30 p.m. for The Pettit Brothers, 2:30 to 4 p.m. for Sean Orr & Texas Gold, and 4 to 6 p.m. for the Czechaholics. There will also be two step dance lessons from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. with Hill Country Two Step.
Admission is free and open to all ages.
