BRENHAM MAN RECEIVES PRISON SENTENCE IN BRAZOS COUNTY COURTROOM

A Brenham man pled guilty in a Brazos County courtroom and received 8 years in prison for the offence of robbery. Robert McCullough Jr., 30 of Brenham, was booked into the Brazos County Jail March 16th, charged with Robbery on December 16th of 2018 at the Valero on Rock Prairie Road and Highway 6.
McCullough was the second person from Brenham to plead guilty in a Brazos courtroom. 32-year-old Rufus Edward Lockett pleaded guilty in January 2022 to Capital Murder and was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. He was also given a life sentence for Aggravated Robbery. Lockett admitted to fatally shooting Anita Randle at a convenience store in College Station in December of 2018. Investigators said Randle was working at the cash register when Lockett demanded money at gunpoint. After she complied, Lockett shot her in the chest. She died a short time later at the hospital.

Lockett also confessed to shooting Binod Jethara after robbing a convenience store in Bryan on December 3, 2018. Jethara survived the shooting, but suffered extensive damage to his heart.
