COACH GLEN WEST INDUCTED INTO THSCA HALL OF HONOR

Former Brenham Cub Coach Glen West took his place among the elite this past Saturday as he was inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor.

The induction occurred during their annual convention in Houston.

West spent 26 years as a head football coach.

The first six years were at Kemp High School, where he finished with a record of 41-23-1.

Then, West spent the next 20 years at Brenham High School, where he compiled a record of 185-61.

His teams went to the playoffs in 18 of those 20 years, winning 11 district titles, and making the state title game three times (2002, 2009, and 2013).

He retired from coaching in 2019, and became the Assistant Executive Director of the Texas High School Coaches Association in that same year.

  1. Coach West is a one of a kind. Well prior to Brenham he was our defensive coordinator at Memorial HS in Houston. We were really blessed to be able to have him just for that short time – he impacted several of us. We Were really awe struck when we met so many from Brenham the other night and could see and feel the impact he had on the community. – Awesome guy – From former Memorial HS (Houston) players.
