BRENHAM & BELLVILLE FINISH IN TOP 4 AT “BATTLE OF THE BRAZOS”

The Brenham Cubettes and the Bellville Brahmanettes finished among the top teams at the "Battle of the Brazos" Tournament, which was held at multiple locations.

Brenham opened Gold Bracket play with a two-set sweep over Cy Woods (25-23 and 25-23). Shelbey Cross had eight kills, Charli Crowson dished out 12 assists, and Kristen Kuehn finished with 13 digs.

Bellville defeated East Bernard 2-1. The Brahmanettes took the first set 25-22, East Bernard took the second set 25-23, and then Bellville came back to win the third set 25-17.

Then, the Brahmanettes swept the Cubettes 2-0 (25-22 and 25-15). For Brenham, Crowson had 8 kills, Averi Frazier dished out 10 assists, and Kuehn finished with 12 digs.

Brenham finished the day by beating Waller in the Third Place Game 2-0 (25-17 and 25-23). Crowson and Rylee Sommerlatte had seven kills each. Lillie Thibodeaux had five aces. Kuehn finished with 10 digs. Crowson dished out 12 assists.

Fulshear would then defeat Bellville in the Championship Game 2-0 (25-16 and 25-18).

All Tournament Team Honors went to Sydney McKay, Sarah Lischka, and Emmy Novicke for Bellville and Lillie Thibodeaux for Brenham.
