BRENHAM FIRE DEPT. RESPONDS TO TWO CALLS MONDAY, ONE EARLY TUESDAY
The Brenham Fire Department had two calls on Monday and one early this (Tuesday) morning.
At 11:30 a.m. Monday, firefighters were sent out to East Stone Street and South Park Street for a report of a transportation incident. Units arrived on location to find a two-vehicle accident with fluids leaking. They used dry absorbent to clean up the spill and returned to service.
At 6:15 p.m., the department was dispatched to Kountry Boys Sausage, 1909 Longwood Drive, for an alarm sounding. However, units were called off en route as proper code was given for cancellation.
Around 5:45 a.m. today, units responded to the Murphy USA gas station at 2615 Highway 36 South for a report of a structure fire. The department found nothing showing from the exterior of the building, but later found a heater not working properly and a battery back inside the building to be hot. BFD members advised an employee to have maintenance come out and check those items.
