BLINN’S FALL ENROLLMENT REACHES HIGHEST MARK SINCE 2019

Blinn College’s final enrollment for the fall 2023 semester hit a mark not seen since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vice Chancellor for Student Services Dr. Becky McBride presented the Blinn Board of Trustees today (Monday) with certified enrollment figures of 18,301 for this fall semester.  The College’s fall student headcount, credit hours and contact hours are all at their highest totals since the fall of 2019.

The fall enrollment includes 3,802 students at RELLIS, up 24.8 percent from fall 2022; 2,145 high school dual credit students, up 17.2 percent; 3,945 online students, an increase of 5.1 percent; 2,109 students on the Brenham Campus, up 2 percent; 41 Sealy Campus students, no change from last fall; 6,103 Bryan Campus students, down 7.9 percent; and 59 students on the Schulenburg Campus, a decrease of 9.2 percent.

Dr. McBride mentioned that three new dual credit agreements were a big contributor to the boost in high school enrollment.  As for the drop in enrollment at the Bryan Campus, she noted that Texas A&M University increased its freshman class size to its highest total ever, at 13,826.

In other business at today’s meeting, the board accepted Blinn’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2023, which received an unmodified opinion, or “clean” audit, from Lott, Vernon, and Company.
