INAUGURAL MLK DAY PARADE TO BE HELD IN BRENHAM
Brenham will have several activities on the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including a parade.
The Washington County Juneteenth Association will host its first-ever MLK Parade on Monday, January 15th starting at 10:30 a.m. at Hattie Mae Flowers Park.
Entries can begin lining up for the parade at 8 a.m. There is no entry fee.
Organizations invited to take part include churches, dance groups, businesses, students, band members, trail ride groups, car clubs, and themed trucks with trailers.
The parade will end at Henderson Park, where there will be a free celebration open to the public.

Also that day, the Brenham Activist Association will hold its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Candlelight Vigil. The event will start at 6 p.m. at the gazebo outside the Washington County Courthouse.
The guest speaker for the vigil will be Pastor MD McClain of Rocky Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Brenham.
