ISD's new executive director of leadership and
learning.
The Brenham School Board voted unanimously on Monday to hire Sara Borchgardt for the role.
Borchgardt has over 20 years of experience in academic leadership and comes to Brenham from Snook ISD, where she served as the executive director of curriculum and instruction.
Borchgardt says she is excited to work alongside the rest of the Brenham ISD family to help make the school district the best it can be.
Prior to Snook ISD, Borchgardt worked in Galveston ISD and for the Texas Center for Educator Excellence. She received a Master of Education degree from the University of Houston.
The hiring comes after a restructuring of staff within Brenham ISD that saw the former executive director of leadership and learning, Christine Johnson, take the position of executive director of administrative services.
The executive director of leadership and learning heads up curriculum and instruction, working with campuses and campus leaders on professional leadership communities, master schedules, testing, and anything that falls under the umbrella of curriculum.
Based on the recent results on the STAAR achievement tests we need new leadership for our students academic instruction. We also need a superintendent who is dedicated to improving our students learning
