FOUR BRENHAM ISD GRADUATES RECOGNIZED AS DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI

Brenham ISD celebrated the accomplishments and contributions of four esteemed graduates today (Friday).

Brenham ISD supporters gathered at the Blinn College Student Center Banquet Room to recognize this year’s distinguished alumni honorees: Meg Dippel-Voelter (Class of 1992), Kenneth Mueller (Class of 1966), Charles Schubert (Class of 1968) and Michael Watts (Class of 1987).

Meg Dippel-Voelter

Meg Dippel-Voelter has dedicated her life to legal excellence and community service. Graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1992, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas before obtaining her law degree from Baylor University, where she was recognized as an Outstanding Academic Student. Meg has served as an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School, where she inspired students to pursue advocacy through hands-on coaching of high school mock trial teams. Her dedication to mentoring led her teams to national recognition, including a top attorney award at the Moot Court Championships at Princeton. Beyond her legal career, Meg is an active community leader, serving on the Board of Directors for the Lower Colorado River Authority and as an advisory board member of Brenham National Bank. Her influence extends into civic life, where she has served as president of the National Charity League and remains deeply involved with various educational and philanthropic organizations. Meg’s contributions reflect her commitment to leadership, family, and community service, values instilled during her time in Brenham.

Kenneth Mueller’s journey has been one of dedication to public service, military honor, and community involvement. After graduating from Brenham High School in 1966, Kenneth earned a degree in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University. His professional career began at the Brenham State School, where he served as Director of Accounting, overseeing key operations until his retirement. He later devoted his efforts to the Washington County Veterans Association and was instrumental in founding the Brenham Honor Guard, providing military honors for veterans. Kenneth's leadership extended to state and national levels, serving as Texas State Commander for the American Legion, where he upheld the values of patriotism and service. His decades-long commitment to his country and community has left an indelible mark on Brenham, and his work with veterans ensures their sacrifices are honored. Kenneth has also been an active member of the Brenham ISD Athletic Booster Club, the United Way, and various veterans’ organizations, illustrating his passion for service across generations.

Charles Schubert’s deep roots in the Brenham community are reflected in his lifelong dedication to both business and civic engagement. After graduating with honors from Blinn College and Stephen F. Austin University, Charles joined his family’s business, Schubert’s Sheet Metal, eventually becoming its owner. He also expanded into real estate, obtaining a broker’s license and teaching appraisal courses at Blinn College and the Austin Institute of Real Estate. Beyond his professional success, Charles has been a vital figure in numerous local organizations, including serving as President Emeritus of the Brenham Maifest Association, where his leadership helped preserve one of the community’s most cherished traditions. A member of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Charles’ commitment to Brenham is evident in his leadership roles, including serving as Vice President of the Brenham ISD Board of Trustees. His contributions to both business and civic life continue to impact the community he calls home.

Michael Watts has dedicated his 30-year career to shaping the lives of students in Brenham ISD and beyond. After earning his degree in education and a Master of Education in leadership and administration, Michael returned to Brenham ISD, where he has served in multiple leadership roles, including Principal of Brenham High School, Brenham Junior High, and Mary Catherine Harris School. His leadership and dedication to education have earned him numerous accolades, including the Brazos Valley Educational Administrator of the Year and the Red Apple Award in 2024. Michael’s influence extends beyond the classroom, with active roles in the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Club, and various youth sports organizations. As a deacon at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, he also nurtures spiritual growth in his community. His dedication to Brenham ISD students and families embodies the district’s commitment to excellence, and his career stands as a testament to the profound impact of education.
