LIVESTOCK JUDGING UNDERWAY WEDNESDAY AT WASHINGTON CO. FAIR
Today (Wednesday) is a full day of livestock judging at the 156th Washington County Fair.
The action begins at 8 a.m. with the market barrow, broiler and rabbit shows and commercial steer grading. Next will be turkeys at 10 a.m., the carcass hog luncheon at 11 a.m., the steer show at noon, lambs at 3 p.m. and goats at 4:30 p.m.
Commercial exhibits, country creations and the country store all open at 10 a.m.
Tonight will be the announcement of the Little and Junior Mister and Miss Contest winners starting at 6 p.m., the same time as the opening of the Heart of America Carnival. Mutton bustin’ begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by bull buck-out at 7:30 p.m.
The featured entertainment is De Parranda, taking the stage at 10 p.m.
KWHI and KTEX-106 will have live reports from the fair from 10 a.m. to noon and from 4 to 6 p.m. KTEX-106’s fair broadcasts are sponsored by South Texas Tack.
Starting today through Saturday, the two stations will have the Wagon Wheel of Prizes at the fair. All spins will raise money for Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, which was destroyed in a fire in July.
The fair on Tuesday announced the winners from Saturday’s Ranch Rodeo:
- First Place Team: McDougald Ranch – Scott McDougald, Bob Clipper, Andrew Varley and David Sorsby
- Top Hand: Bob Clipper
- Top Horse: David Sorsby
