BURTON DROPS TWO AT THREE-WAY MATCH IN BELLVILLE

It was a rough night for the Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team on Tuesday as they dropped a pair of matches as part of a three-way match in Bellville.

In the first match, Burton lost to Round Top-Carmine 3-1. RT-C won the first set 25-21, Burton won the second set 25-17, but then RT-C won the next two sets 27-25 and 25-21.

Lexi Broesche had a double-double with 12 kills and 19 digs. Laci Broesche just missed a double-double as she finished with nine kills and 19 assists.

Adison Harmel dished out 25 assists and had 19 digs, while Reagan Roemer led the defense with 31 digs, and Kinsey Lunbeck chipped in with nine kills.

In the second match, the Lady Panthers were swept by Bellville 3-0. The Brahmanettes won the sets 25-14, 25-16, and 25-11. Roemer had 14 digs. Harmel finished with nine assists. Laci Broesche had four kills, five assists, and five digs. Lexi Broesche had three kills and seven digs. Madalyn Henry had four kills and three digs.

Next up, Burton is off on Friday for the Washington County Fair. They return to action on Tuesday, September 24, at home against North Zulch. The JV begin things at 5pm, followed by the Varsity afterwards.

  1. I don’t think losing in the second round of the playoffs is going deep into the playoffs.

  2. Common sense says it’s not about stats all the time but about team morale. Maybe we better step back and take a look at that.

    1. My vb panther has learned some valuable life lessons this season.
      Amongst those favoritism and being told she was something she is not. My advice to the girls who are affected is to stay strong , continue working hard and don’t let this affect your well being.
      I wish the girls who are playing a great season and growth in their skills.

  3. Wondering Where is the stars from last year girls that made far in the playoff names at? Did they move or not playing as much.

      1. Coaches have to play their best players at the moment. Last year’s success is not a guarantee for this year. If you think you can do a better job than the coaches, then apply for the job.
