CUBETTES FALL TO COLLEGE STATION ON DIG PINK NIGHT
On an evening where the Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team raised money for a good cause, it was the College Station Lady Cougars that left the Brenham High School Gym with the victory on Tuesday night.
College Station won the sets 25-16, 25-19, and 25-19.
In the first set, the Lady Cougars built an early eight point lead, and were up 12-4. The Cubettes fought back and managed to trim the lead down to four points, 17-13. College Station then went on an 8-3 run to put it away.
For the second set, it was a similar story with the Lady Cougars building a big early lead 16-6. Brenham fought back, but the closest they could get it was a five-point deficit, 24-19.
In the third set, it was the Cubettes who got off to a fast start, and were up 10-4. College Station rallied and eventually tied it 10-10. After trading points back and forth, the Lady Cougars went on a 9-3 run and pulled out the victory.
In addition to the match, the Brenham Volleyball Program also raised money for the Side Out Foundation for Breast Cancer.
The auction raised $4,631, and they are still waiting on payments for some of their T-Shirt sales, and for the proceeds from the Kendra Scott sales.
Next up, Brenham was scheduled for a bye this week, but they have elected to stay busy by hosting a match against Iola on Friday at 4pm.
