BRENHAM FIRE CHIEF EXPRESSES GRATITUDE FOR COLLABORATION IN MAJOR FIRE CALLS

Brenham Fire Chief Mark Donovan thanks
Washington County Commissioners on
Tuesday for the collaboration between
city and county agencies during a pair of
major fire calls over the past few weeks.

Tuesday’s Washington County Commissioners meeting opened with words of gratitude from Brenham Fire Chief Mark Donovan.

Donovan thanked the county for its assistance during two major fire calls that occurred recently: the Allsorts Storage fire on September 18th and the fire at Del Sol Food Company on October 2nd.

Donovan said numerous volunteer fire departments from around the county came to help out the Brenham Fire Department at both incidents, as well as the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Washington County EMS.  He said the cooperation between responding agencies should be commended and is very much appreciated.

County Judge John Durrenberger said the Brenham Fire Department often goes outside the city limits to assist during calls out in the county, calling it “a team effort” and “a countywide effort.”  Commissioner Kirk Hanath said the county is much better together than separate, adding, “When we’re united, we make the best for all of our community.”
