BETZY ANDRADE, ELIJAH FERGUSON NAMED BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING QUEEN & KING
Brenham High School crowned homecoming royalty Friday night.
Betzy Andrade was named the 2024 Homecoming Queen during halftime ceremonies of the Brenham Cub football game against the Waco Lions. Julie Baker was first runner-up and Claire Jackson was second runner-up.
The 2024 Homecoming King is Elijah Ferguson. First runner-up was Jordan Harvey and second runner-up was JaBreon Moore.
Winners were determined by votes from the high school student body.
Other members of the homecoming court were Greenlee Abeja, Rashiyd Anderson, Kinley Antkowiak, Brett Campbell, Yazmine Gaines, Grady Gee, Daniella Guerrero, Cullen Halfmann, Barrett Kohring, Alex Lawhorn, Austin Maurer, Avery Maurer, Kailyn Shugart and Ellie VanDyke.
The Cubs defeated the Lions, 55-0.
Also announced on Friday were the winners of Wednesday’s Homecoming Parade through downtown Brenham:
- Best BISD Float: Alton Elementary – Heart, Brains, & Courage...Land of the Ogg with the principal as a wizard and courageous lion students
- Best Non-BISD Float: Dan’s Meat Market
- Most Cub Spirit: Brenham Cub Baseball – Brenham Texas, The Emerald City float featuring the Wicked Witch of the East’s legs and ruby slippers
- Most Creative: Brenham JV Cheer – with their impressive float and spinning crown
- Best Float Overall: Alton Elementary
