TWO ACCIDENTS AMONG FOUR CALLS THURSDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department went out to four calls on Thursday.

At 7:15 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to West Main Street and South Austin Street for a transportation incident.  They arrived on location to find a two-vehicle accident with injuries.  Units helped EMS with patient care and provided traffic control until both vehicles were removed from the roadway.

Just before 7:45 a.m., another transportation incident was reported at South Chappell Hill Street and East Alamo Street.  There, the department found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries.  BFD members checked on the drivers and cleaned the roadway, returning to service after both vehicles were removed from the street.

At 11 a.m., a vehicle fire was called in from the 1700 block of Highway 290 West.  When firefighters arrived, they found no smoke or fire, but the driver of an 18-wheeler advised them that his turbo broke, causing oil to leak.  The fire department used dry absorbent on the leak and returned to the station.

Around 12:30 p.m., units received an alarm call at Ulta Beauty, 974 Highway 290 East.  Nothing was showing from the exterior of the building, and after speaking with the manager, firefighters advised them to have an alarm company come check out their system.
