BURTON DROPS REGULAR SEASON FINALE TO GRANGER 40-20
In the battle for the #2 seed in their district, the Granger Lions defeated the Burton Panther Football Team 40-20 last (Friday) night.
Burton was trailing 7-0 in the first quarter, when K.D. Patterson scored on a one-yard run at the 4:29 mark. The two-point conversion try was no good, but they cut the lead to 7-6.
In the second quarter, the Panthers took their only lead of the game on an 85-yard touchdown pass from Patterson to Drayton Oakes with 3:34 left until halftime. Patterson then completed a pass to Brayden Martin for the two point conversion. That gave Burton a 14-7 lead.
The Lions scored one final time in the first half with 37.6 seconds left to tie it 14-14.
Granger dominated the second half outscoring Burton 26-6.
The Panthers finish the regular season at 6-4, and 5-2 in district.
