BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD PURCHASES CONDENSER UNITS FOR CENTRAL OFFICE, DISH MACHINE FOR JUNIOR HIGH
The Brenham School Board on Monday approved two sets of equipment purchases.
Trustees signed off on buying two replacement 10-ton condenser units and coils that maintain climate control at the Brenham ISD central office. Both of the current units are over 20 years old, with one being non-functional and the other operating at minimal capacity.
The $47,704 purchase from NEVA Corporation comes from the district’s Tom Green County fund. Superintendent Clay Gillentine said that fund is separate from the general fund and is dedicated to land and building improvements.
The board also agreed to buy and install a new dish machine at Brenham Junior High School, replacing the existing 40-year-old gas-powered machine that Child Nutrition Director Kasandra Davis said there is “no more Band-aiding” for.
The $65,569 purchase from Kommercial Kitchens will be funded by the district’s child nutrition account. Gillentine said the account, like the Tom Green County fund, is separate from the district’s general fund budget.
