CITY OF BURTON LIFTS BOIL WATER NOTICE, DROUGHT MEASURES
The City of Burton's water system is back to normal operations.
Burton Mayor Karen Buck said as of this (Saturday) afternoon, the city's boil water notice and emergency drought contingency plan have been rescinded.
The city had enacted the boil notice and drought measures after the motor at the bottom of the city's water well went out early Thursday, leading to the water lines and storage tanks emptying. The motor was fixed by Thursday afternoon, but time was needed to flush the lines and allow the tanks to fill back up.
Water samples that were submitted for testing Friday morning came back this afternoon in good condition, leading to the lifting of the boil notice and drought plan.
