The Blinn College women's basketball team fell to Panola College 65-51 in a Region XIV road tilt Wednesday in Carthage, Texas.

The loss dropped the Buccaneers to 21-7 overall and 8-4 in region play.

"I believe Panola has the best player in the league (Awa Fane), and she made some tough shots to get 20 points tonight," Blinn head coach Jeff Jenkins said. "Offensively, we are going to have to hit some shots to have a chance to win."

The Fillies took control of the ballgame early and never relinquished control. The hosts led 20-13 after the first quarter, 32-26 at halftime, and 46-37 heading into the fourth quarter.

Leading Blinn on the score sheet were sophomore forwards Tocarra Johnson and Harper Biley, who tallied 10 points apiece.

The Buccaneers continue their season with a road trip to Paris Junior College at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Paris, Texas.
