BRENHAM JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN TEXAS WILDLIFE ASSOCIATION EXPEDITION
Approximately 370 seventh graders from Brenham Junior High School will take part in an educational Land, Water & Wildlife Expedition.
The Texas Wildlife Association (TWA) is sponsoring the event on Tuesday, March 18th at the Kolkhorst Ranch in Brenham.
During the expedition, students will actively participate in wildlife- and conservation-related activities such as plant identification, aquifer modeling, soil analysis and a predator-prey game.
TWA relies on its members who are private landowners to host Land, Water & Wildlife Expeditions. According to a TWA press release, over 2,000 Texas school students from 10 schools participated in expeditions during the 2023-24 school year.
Formed in 1985, TWA says its mission is “Serving Texas wildlife and its habitat, while protecting property rights, hunting heritage, and the conservation efforts of those who value and steward wildlife resources.” Its areas of focus include natural resource education, advocacy for hunting heritage, and public policy.
