CITY CREWS AT THE SCENE OF A GAS LEAK NEAR BLUE BELL

  

10:25am Update: The City of Brenham said that the gas leak has been contained. Gas crews are working on the necessary repairs, and the roads are opening back up.

Original Story: City crews are on the scene this (Tuesday) morning of a large gas leak on FM 577 adjacent to Blue Bell.

The Brenham Fire Department and the City of Brenham Gas Department are on the scene, and a HazMat Team is en route.

No injuries have been reported and the scene is active. The air is being monitored as well.

Shortly before 10am, Blue Bell Road was shut down between Tom Green Street and Pecan Street, and traffic is being detoured.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if at all possible.
