BELLVILLE FFA TEAM HAS TWO SECOND PLACE FINISHES AT NATIONALS

The Bellville FFA made the trip to the 98th Annual FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, and returned with a pair of second place finishes.

Bellville finished as the runner-up in the Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event and also in the Nursery and Landscape Career Development Event.

For the Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event, the Bellville FFA Team consisted of Taylor Eckelberg, Teaghan Eckelberg, Darcy Luedke, and Levi Malinowski.

In the contest, students had to evaluate beef cattle, sheep, and swine for market values and desired traits. They also had to rank livestock for breeding purposes using physical characteristics and performance data.

Meanwhile, the Nursery and Landscape Career Development Team consisted of Shane Sturm, Matthew Wybro, James Haisler, and Layne Malinowski.

For their event, team members had to apply their landscaping, marketing, and service skills as they completed a written exam. They also had to identify various landscaping plant materials, and evaluate plant materials, and landscaping plans.
