CUB AND CUBETTE BASKETBALL TEAMS COMPETE IN TOURNAMENT PLAY

The Brenham Cub and Cubette Basketball Teams are competing in tournament play this weekend.

The Cubs began the Eagle Shootout at Cedar Creek High School in Bastrop with a pair of wins on Thursday. Brenham won the first game over Vista Ridge 63-51, and then defeated the host school, Cedar Creel, 74-30. (Stats are not yet available. We will update the story when we receive them)

Next up, the Cubs (7-4) are scheduled to face Austin High School this (Friday) morning at 10:40am. The tournament wraps up tomorrow (Saturday)

Meanwhile, the Brenham Cubettes split their games at the Navasota Lady Rattler Tournament yesterday (Thursday). The Cubettes opened the Shootout with a 47-42 win over Austin Crockett.

However, Brenham would drop their second game of the day to La Porte 45-37.

Next up, the Cubettes (11-3) face the Burton Lady Panthers at 1pm, and the Wharton Lady Tigers at 5:30pm.
