BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS RECEIVE ACCOLADES AT SCHOLARSHIP CEREMONY
Graduating Brenham High School seniors were honored for their achievements Monday night at the high school’s 39th Annual Scholarship Ceremony.
The program, organized by the Brenham High School chapter of the National Honor Society, presents outgoing seniors with hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships.
The top graduates in the Class of 2026 are Drake Bentke and Levi DuPont.
Bentke earned valedictorian with a grade point average of 4.7666. The son of Matt and Rachel Bentke, he will attend the University of Pennsylvania, where he plans to pursue a degree in Finance and compete as an NCAA Division I baseball player.
Bentke says finishing atop the class was made possible through the strong connections he made with educators and his fellow students.
DuPont is salutatorian with a GPA of 4.7617. The son of Matthew and Casey DuPont, he will attend the University of Colorado at Boulder. He will major in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences while also pursuing a degree in Music.
DuPont encourages students heading into high school to stay driven, remain open to feedback, and do not be afraid to strive for excellence.
This year’s graduating class has 378 members, including 160 honor graduates.
Brenham High School’s graduation will be held on Friday, May 22nd at 8 p.m. at Cub Stadium. KWHI will have a live broadcast of the ceremony.
