BHS TEACHER SELECTED AS TEXAS VFW SMART/MAHER NATIONAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION TEACHER OF THE YEAR
A Brenham High School teacher has been selected for a teacher of the year award from the Texas Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Jason Barber was named the winning entry in the VFW Smart/Maher National Citizenship Education Teacher Program for 2019-2020. As the state winner in that category, Barber’s entry will move on to the National Headquarters for the national judging.
The award brings with it a $1,000 honorarium and a plaque in recognition of the achievement. In addition, Barber will attend an awards banquet at the 2020 Texas VFW Mid-Winter Conference, set for January 25th in Austin.
