BRYAN MAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING

A Bryan man has been hospitalized after what police say was an accidental shooting, Friday afternoon.

The shooting occurred just south of Sue Haswell Park, as a man was cleaning his rifle and it accidentally discharged from inside his home on North Coulter Drive.

The bullet exited the man’s home and struck a passing vehicle, hitting the driver.

The 71-year-old victim is in serious condition at a nearby hospital. A passenger was not hit by the bullet, but she was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The incident is currently under investigation.  No charges have been filed at this time.

  1. Someone needs to explain WHY the person who was cleaning the rifle did not insure the breach was clear prior to even begin cleaning it. Of course if no one had been hit by the bullet, it would have went down in history at least in the “Shooter’s mind “No harm, no foul” ‘Opinion: If anyone who is an active shooter whether it be for hunting, sport shooting or simply self defense needs to attend a 3-4 day course to obtain a Concealed Gun Carry Cert. Be safe out there!
