GIDDINGS CANCELS GRIMES STREET MUSIC FEST
Another event has fallen victim to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
The second annual Grimes Street Music Fest, also known as the 3rd of July Street Dance in downtown Giddings has been postponed.
The Giddings Chamber of Commerce announced the postponement of the event, late Thursday.
Lee County Sheriff’s Posse Arena at the Fairgrounds in Giddings will still host Fury on the 4th beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Gates open at 5 p.m. Tickets will be $20 for adults, kids aged 7-12 will be $5, and kids six and under are free.
Trailboss Troy will be broadcasting live from the KTEX Country Cruiser.
County officials say the Giddings VFD will still be selling BBQ by the pound and to go plates tomorrow. Entry to the fairground for the 4th of July BBQ will be from the rodeo entrance off of HWY 290.
The Giddings VFD music events and dance scheduled at the pavilion for the 4th have been postponed.
The Giddings and Lexington fireworks events will go on as scheduled. Individuals must remain in or around their vehicles and must maintain six feet social distancing.
