LEE CO. CANCER RESOURCE CENTER CLOSING

After 11 years, the Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center will be closing its doors.

Center Director Carolyn Jackson, says lack of funding has led to the decision to shut down the center, which has been open since 2007.

According to Jackson, the center was originally funded by the Lehman Foundation and Combined Community Action grants.  Then numerous donors become involved in the funding.

Jackson says the destruction of Hurricane Harvey caused many groups to alter their funding, and many area nonprofits were affected.

Jackson says she’s grateful for all the support the center received over the years.

The Lee County Area Cancer Resource Center will be closing its doors for good at the end of March.
