OFFICIALS FIX GAS LEAK AT VINTAGE FARMS WAY IN BRENHAM

  

The Brenham Fire Department was called out to a gas leak, northwest of downtown, Wednesday morning.

The Department was dispatched just after 11:00 a.m. to Vintage Farms Way at Highway 36 North.

According to officials, a contractor had struck a mail gas line.  The line was clamped off by the City of Brenham Gas Department.

No one was reported injured.

  1. SECOND TIME RECENTLY THAT A WORK CREW HIRED BY THE CITY HAS STRUCK A GAS LINE (OR WAS THE OTHER A WATER LINE) .

    As I observed then, the “CALL BEFORE YOU DIG – IT’S THE LAW!” is only for private citizens ?
    Contractors of all people should already HAVE THE PLATS BY THE TIME WORK IS LET. Or is
    it their due diligence that’s lacking?

    1. What makes you think the contractors were hired by the city?
      *Helpful Hint* They weren’t.

    2. Just because you “call before you dig” does NOT mean that it will even be marked correctly if at all.. Accidents happen….
