BELLVILLE ST. JOSEPH EMERGENCY ROOM TO EXPAND

The expansion of the emergency room at the Bellville St. Joseph’s Health Center has been approved when the Bellville Hospital District Board unanimously voted to proceed with the proposed 3500 square foot project.

After months of coordination and planning between Bellville St. Joseph Health Center, St. Joseph Health System in Bryan, Sylvania Franciscan Health of Toledo, Ohio and the Sisters of St. Francis, the district approved the project subject to final plans, specifications and financing.

The plans call for a separate emergency department entrance that will mirror the main entrance to the hospital.  This is to better serve patients along with plans to create a private waiting area, triage area, trauma room and three separate exam rooms.  A covered  area for EMS ambulances is also in the plans.

As the only Level II Trauma Center in the area, staff from St.Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan has worked closely with the Bellville hospital staff in designing a functional floor plan that will allow for quick response and an excellent patient experience.
