BURTON ISD SCHOOL BOARD EXTENDS SUPERINTENDENT’S CONTRACT

  

Burton ISD school board met yesterday (Tuesday) evening to discuss extending the contract of Superintendent, Edna Kennedy.

The board approved to extend Kennedy’s contract an additional year until June 30th, 2019 with a 3% salary increase.

Superintendent, Kennedy discussed the need to purchase a school vehicle

and 2 new buses, and new furniture for the renovated high school auditorium.

Also at the meeting, students and staff showed their recognition for the Board Members with banners, posters, cards, place mats, certificates of appreciation, goodie bags, a paper weight with pictures in it, a personalized mug, sandwiches, drinks, cookies and candy, and a song from 1st grade

Other approvals at the meeting included the August 2015 annual audit report, an administrative procedures manual, the Joint Election Contract with the City of Burton, waivers for 6 early release days and 5 staff development days for the 2016-2017 school year.

  1. Great news! Dr Kennedy is the best thing to come to Burton ISD in a long time!! She’s doing a great job and I for one hope she stays her a long time!!
