CITY OF CALDWELL WORKER DIES IN WORK-RELATED ACCIDENT
A sanitation worker for the city of Caldwell died Wednesday after a work-related accident.
According the Department of Public Safety, Gary Lambert, 66, was on duty when the accident happened Wednesday morning. Lambert was on the side rail of a garbage truck on 6th Street in Caldwell when he fell off the vehicle. Authorities say the truck then backed up and hit Lambert.
He was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Caldwell where he later died. Lambert had been employed with the city for over 10 years.
The ongoing investigation is being handled by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
