BURLESON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING SCHOOL SHOOTING THREAT

The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a school shooting threat that was written on the bathroom wall at Caldwell High School.

The threat, which was discovered on April 24, said that the person who wrote it was planning to shoot up the school on May 6, which was this past Monday.

The threat was reported to the principal’s office, and then to the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office the same day.

Ten Burleson County Sheriff Deputies and DPS Sgt. Justin Stohler provided an increased law enforcement presence on campus.

They also patrolled the Elementary, Intermediate, and Junior High campuses as well.

Law enforcement and school officials were relieved that nothing happened.

The extra officers were on hand on Tuesday, but again nothing happened.

Chief Deputy Bill Rios told the Burleson County Tribune that they have been questioning students, but so far no one saw who wrote message, or when it was written.

Caldwell High School Principal Erin Meadows sent out an email saying that they are committed to the safety of all their students, and thus far the Sheriff’s Office has not found any credible information that would substantiate the threat.

Rios said that the surveillance is going to continue. He added that if they do find out who made the threat, there will be charges filed.
