Local U.S. Congressman says he supports President Obasma’s announcement Wednesday that he intends to keep in place 8,400 troops in Afghanistan through the end of his presidency.

In a statement issued late Wednesday, McCaul, the chair of the House Committee on Homeland Security said the president, “rightly reversed his previous plan to reduce U.S. troop levels from 9,800 to 5,500 by the of the year.”

However, McCaul goes on to say, the president’s decision to withdraw 1,400 troops this year, “poses considerable risks to the national security of the U.S. and to our men and women serving in the region.”

McCaul insists the United States, “must maintain a robust presence there to accomplish this mission alongside Afghan and coalition allies. Furthermore, should learn the history of previous mistakes in Iraq instead of repeat them"

  1. I wish the president would support Israel instead of other countries! Stop giving our money to countries like Iran! We need our military desperately! God says He will put a hook in there jaw of those who curse Israel! America is sleeping!

  2. Must support the military industrial complex, by all means. War mongers and the wealthy must keep the profit machine going.

  3. The president should be strengthening our military and not weakening it! We r in a critical time with terrorism in USA! And stop letting terrorists come over here so easily! Wake up America!
