STATE REPRESENTATIVE LEIGHTON SCHUBERT FILES FOR RE-ELECTION

  

District 13 State Representative Leighton Schubert has filed for re-election to the Texas House of Representatives.

Schubert, a Caldwell attorney, is the only candidate so far to file for the seat in the March 6th Republican Primary.  Schubert won a 2015 special election to replace Lois Kolkhorst, who had won a special election for Texas Senate District 18.  Kolkhorst is in the middle of a four-year term.

Texas House District 13 includes the counties of Austin, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lavaca and Washington.  The deadline to file as either a Republican or Democratic candidate in the March 6th Primary is December 11th.
